In recent days we have talked about:
- How to increase the firing power of an electric pistol
- How to increase the burst speed of a shock gun
Today, as anticipated in previous articles, we will talk about what to change to get both, i.e. more shooting power (therefore more output speed of the 6 mm pellet) and also higher burst frequency, therefore more pellets fired per minute. Recall that by burst speed, or burst frequency, we mean the number of pellets fired per minute in automatic mode, for example, just to “shoot” a number, 120 shots per minute, 140 shots per minute, etc. By airsoft gun power Not we mean the electric power of the motor or of the battery pack, we mean the power in Joule with which the ASG fires the BBs.
Which internal components do we need to work on to increase both of these parameters? Now we tell you.
To increase the burst speed of a stun gun as well as its power (or pellet output speed expressed in meters per second) we must necessarily intervene on the air group and also on the gear-box and on the electric motor.
You will then need to:
– replace the air unit spring with a reinforced one capable of increasing the pellet output speed, for example by going from a 100 m/s spring to a 130 m/s spring.
– reduce the gear-box reduction ratio (for example by going from a 15:1 ratio to a 13:1 or 12:1 ratio)
– replace the motor with one having the same rotation speed (for example 25,000 rpm) but with a higher torque
OR
– replace the air unit spring with a reinforced one capable of increasing the pellet output speed, for example by going from a 100 m/s spring to a 130 m/s spring.
– replace the motor with one having both higher rotation speed and higher torque
In both cases, probably it may be necessary to use a battery pack with a higher mAh capacity to compensate for the greater absorption of the electric motor. These are some quick pointers on how to increase both the burst rate of your airsoft gun and the power with which the pellets are fired. The same considerations also apply to automatic electric guns for airsoft. To make the article simple, we do not explain here the mechanical and electrical reasons behind these indications but only the indications themselves.

Normally, this power must be less than 1 Joule, but we always invite you to consult the regulation of the country where you play airsoft to be sure you are in compliance with this parameter.
